January/February will be the timeline when registration for BGCP opens up.

It will only be for FGIS students. Care will be for TK-5. They do have Middle school programs but we are not aware of the agreement between the district and it’s still not confirmed.

We still need to confirm the details but we do anticipate that there will be either a registration process or a permission slip for those currently enrolled in after school care.

Annex will be able to provide childcare only during the morning portion of the day.

Maybe not directly observe but we can invite BGCP in the Spring so that they can share more about their program and what they offer. We do have BGCP at 3 sites currently within SMFCSD. Annex and BGCP programs are very similar. BGCP is structured, organized and now has an ID system where parents scan that to pick up their students.

When it comes to curriculum I think it would be helpful to invite BGCP representatives to talk more about program specific topics. One thing we know is that the classes are divided by grade level to be as well able to support the students needs and club sign ups.

BGCP will be on campus. Not all Annex families will get BGCP at no cost. Current Annex/YMCA families who pay will still have to pay. To be able to qualify for free BGCP there are certain benchmarks that need to be met. The additional spots that will be offered when expanding to BGCP we anticipate them being at no cost.

We are getting more than what we have now. Electevies are based on enrollment and until we know our enrollment number we can confirm what we will have as well as we cant confirm how many new staff will be needed especially for middle school. FGIS principals are touring middle schools and getting ideas of what we want for our school.

The goal will be to eventually have all sports like an established middle school. Our goal is to get there but it will take time.

An elective like LEGO, computer, music, technology, etc. Per day.

There are other options in other schools. Students in 6th grade test out of the math to take 7th grade math or 7th grade into 8th grade math or 2 math periods in 8th grade. So by the time you get to high school you are more advanced. However, there are other options where students take a math class in the summer when they get to highschool. Also, some teachers actually recommend just following the math trajectory and not testing in advanced math. Basically, you are not doing your child a disservice if they don’t take advanced math.

We are not in charge of BGCPs hiring process but we do hope that most staff will be Spanish speaking to be able to support our students.

Aids are through the district and will continue to stay with the student even after school.

As a principal we will advocate for middle school after school care right now we can’t confirm but we are advocating for our middle school families to have after school care.

There will be a bus going from Fiesta neighborhood to College Park and College Park to Fiesta neighborhood. However, as far as this being the only stop or adding another stop, I cannot confirm that. Anyone in our school will be able to take the bus. It will be a yellow school bus. If there is a demand and we have capacity then we will advocate for that.

Transportation is already in place for them. Parents usually come pick them up on site after school.

They are not able to at this moment but that doesn't mean in the future it can’t happen.

They will be able to go to the programs and return to their after school program similar to how it is being done now.

 It was only to gauge what families were thinking for next year and it was shared with Dr. Rubalcaba. Today we will be sharing more information on our newsletter on next steps for current 5th grade enrollment with timelines.

Sólo será para estudiantes de FGIS. La atención será para TK-5. Tienen programas de escuela secundaria pero no conocemos el acuerdo entre el distrito y aún no está confirmado.

Los programas Annex y BGCP son muy similares. BGCP está estructurado, organizado y ahora tiene un sistema de identificación donde los padres lo escanean para recoger a sus estudiantes.

En lo que respecta al plan de estudios, creo que sería útil invitar a representantes de BGCP a hablar más sobre temas específicos del programa. Una cosa que sabemos es que las clases se dividen por nivel de grado para poder satisfacer las necesidades de los estudiantes y las inscripciones en clubes.

BGCP estará en el campus. No todas las familias del Annex obtendrán BGCP sin costo. Las familias actuales del Annex/YMCA que pagan aún tendrán que pagar. Para poder calificar para BGCP gratuito, hay ciertos puntos de referencia que deben cumplirse. Anticipamos que los lugares adicionales que se ofrecerán al expandirse a BGCP serán sin costo.

Estamos obteniendo más de lo que tenemos ahora. Las elecciones se basan en la inscripción y hasta que sepamos nuestro número de inscripción podemos confirmar qué tendremos y no podemos confirmar cuánto personal nuevo se necesitará, especialmente para la escuela intermedia. Los directores de FGIS están recorriendo las escuelas intermedias y obteniendo ideas de lo que queremos para nuestra escuela.

No estamos a cargo del proceso de contratación de BGCP, pero esperamos que la mayoría del personal hable español para poder apoyar a nuestros estudiantes.

Las ayudas son a través del distrito y continuarán con el estudiante incluso después de la escuela.

Como director, abogaremos por el cuidado después de la escuela en la escuela intermedia en este momento. No podemos confirmarlo, pero estamos abogando por que nuestras familias de la escuela secundaria tengan cuidado después de la escuela.

Ya cuentan con transporte. Los padres normalmente vienen a recogerlos al lugar después de la escuela.

No pueden hacerlo en este momento, pero eso no significa que en el futuro no pueda suceder.

Podrán ir a los programas y regresar a su programa extracurricular similar a como se hace ahora.
